Jakarta – Solar Depot (PT ATW Sejahtera) and Huawei Indonesia (PT Huawei Tech Investment) have officially signed a strategic partnership to develop microgrid renewable energy solutions. This collaboration aims to meet the electricity needs of the mining and plantation industries, particularly for operations located in remote areas without access to the national power grid. This initiative is a major step in accelerating Indonesia’s clean energy transition and strengthening the national renewable energy ecosystem.

Juan Davis, the President Director of Triputra Visi Energi, explained that this collaboration was driven by the increasing demand for efficient, reliable, and sustainable energy in these sectors. In mining and plantations, energy strategies are now shifting toward a combination of resources that can provide long term efficiency without compromising operational reliability.

“This partnership was born from the market’s need for energy solutions that are more independent and economical. Through microgrid technology based on solar power and battery storage systems, we want to speed up the adoption of clean energy in the industrial sector,” said Juan.

Scope of the Collaboration

The partnership covers the development and supply of integrated microgrid solutions. This includes the construction of solar power plants (PLTS), battery energy storage systems (BESS), digital energy management, and complete technical support from start to finish. Several pilot projects have already been prepared for mining and plantation areas that have high energy demands but limited access to the power grid.

Juan added that Huawei is the ideal technology partner because they share the same sustainability goals as Solar Depot. He noted that Huawei offers world class technology, innovation, and a global guarantee for its products and services.

“Huawei has a proven track record of innovation and reliability worldwide. This collaboration allows us to provide world class technology that meets the specific operational needs of industries in Indonesia,” he explained.

Huawei’s Role and Sustainability Commitment

Jin Song, the CEO of Huawei Digital Power Indonesia, stated that Solar Depot is an ideal strategic partner because they understand the needs of energy intensive sectors and have a strong business ecosystem through the support of Triputra Group.

“We will provide integrated microgrid solutions based on solar power and industrial batteries, equipped with real time monitoring and control systems to ensure operational stability and efficiency,” Jin said.

He emphasized that this cooperation aligns with Huawei’s commitment to support Indonesia’s Net Zero Emission target through the use of smart and sustainable digital technology.

Impact and Future Outlook

This partnership is expected to drive the use of microgrids and solar power as future energy solutions, especially in regions that are not reached by the PLN grid.

“The energy transition is no longer an option but a strategic necessity to strengthen economic competitiveness and environmental sustainability,” Jin added.

Juan is also optimistic that the solar industry will continue to grow as companies increase their commitment to sustainability and cost efficiency. Within the next five years, solar power is projected to become the backbone of industrial energy, supported by advanced storage and smart management systems.

According to Juan, customers ranging from industrial to utility scales will see significant benefits. These include operational cost efficiency, reliable power for critical operations, reduced carbon emissions, and technical support that meets international standards. Both companies hope this partnership will become a long term foundation for a stronger renewable energy ecosystem and national energy security.
